I would recommend looking up any specific things you would like to see because of how big the museum is, it can take more time than you have to see it all
The wait to see Mona Lisa was not that bad and the way the Venus is displayed. It was easy to capture a good view.
A highlight was seeing Napoleon’s apartment, so be sure to check that out.

This museum is just enormous. Be prepared to walk and walk and walk some more. We went on a Wednesday evening and it was not very busy. Disappointed that such poor directions and lack of elevators. Literally walked around in a circle looking for Napoleon area. Even with asking for assistance.

Toilets are filthy- if you let that many people in at once, you need to get more staff members to manage the load! And of course why would anyone had any regard for visitors forking quite a substantial amount of money for a ticket and ask the protesters out???
Visiting the Louvre was the main point of us coming to Paris and it left us bitterly disappointed.

The restroom lines at the entrance are much longer than the ticket lines… if you can wait until you are in one of the Halls, there are no restroom lines.
The audio devices are very helpful, as not all placards have multiple language translations of the descriptions.
It is very difficult to see everything in one day – plan multiple days or multiple trips!
Wear comfortable shoes – a lot of walking and quite a lot of stairs!
