Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is a treasure trove of art and history, offering an unparalleled experience for visitors. Among its vast collection, one standout piece is the Winged Glory statue, a stunning representation of victory that leaves a lasting impression. Buy tickets in advance and respect the time frame on your ticket. You will save a lot of time if you buy the tickets online and use the Carrousel entrance ( rue de rivoli) . Audio guide is very bad almost imposible to use.

Maps were impossible to figure out. Lines take long time and many people just pushed in. Toilets were filthy and poor female cleaner had to clean mens toilets while they were still in there. Females have to line up for bathroom. I got there early and was charged 3 euro in shopping gallery to use bathroom. Paintings were beautiful but MonaLisa was fenced of about 50 metres with huge crowd you couldn’t even see it. Much walking on creaky floors and many many stairs. I went three times and saw everything but was hard work. Egyptian and Easter Island area was closed which they didn’t let you know. Some paintings were hung really high so I couldn’t see very well. I’d give the art 5 stars, was amazing, but the Louvre was a maze of filthy toilets,confusing hallways and overcrowding.

But the museum is way too big, it is very busy and the map they give is not very useful. You will get lost and try to find out how to leave this place for 30 mins.

We mistakenly skipped the historic artefacts in favour of paintings. Impressive 15th-century religious propaganda posters become tiresome after 5 rooms. Even the Islamic art exhibition, of pots & calligraphy showing no growth in a millennium, were overshadowed by the modern, interactive socio-political installation at the entrance. This two hour experience was titled, ‘Security’.
