Louvre Museum

Visit on late night opening which is weds and Fri til 9pm. The museum really empties out for the last hour and makes it an enjoyable experience. The French crown jewels were beautiful to see. Top tip the tuileries close at 9pm so you cannot walk back through them when the museum has closed towards the metro.

I’m sure the Louvre is beautiful. Wish I could say I was able to visit. In fact, we had a very disappointing experience in July 2025. My husband and I purchased 7 tickets online (on their official site) for our 3 teen children, ourselves and my parents while visiting Paris. We then realized we also needed to buy a “droit de passage”, which wasn’t available online. We called the office and were told they had none left…..but they refused to reimburse the tickets. Why sell useless tickets??? Why not sell the right of passage with the ticket if one is useless without the other??? Beware. Always read the fine print. The Louvre organizers make an easy buck off hopeful visitors. This is plain theft.

Dirty toilets, pretty crowded, especially near the Mona Lisa. I thought that at 17:30 there would be less people, but it seems like many people thought the same way. But still lots of good stuff to see

Despite the crowds and long lines our trip to the Louvre was amazing! The lines went fast and we were walk around looking at art in no time! There was plenty of signage inside of the museum to help us find where to go. We also received a map that was in English, which was a bonus. I noticed they had in several different languages. Our first stop was the Mona Lisa, and there was plenty of signage to help us get there quickly. Although the room was packed we were able to move up closer to get a good viewing of the Jacande. We spent three hours looking at art and I felt like we had much more to look at. We probably could’ve stayed there several more hours but what we got to see was amazing on the way out. We stopped to get a drink at the café, which was nice and we checked out the gift shop Although we didn’t buy anything. There were lots of cute things that I wanted to purchase.

Two of the most precious collections in the world! Visiting the Museum of Luvre is an opportunity to see the best Painters who have immortalized themselves in the history of classical visual arts worldwide! A must-see if you go to Paris!
