Louvre Museum

I joined small group tour this time and much enjoyable than I visited on my own. My kids also put this place as his number one during our stay thanks to our guide.
It helps me understand the historical background and the arts along with all of authentic artefacts

One of the best museums in all of Europe. Def need a whole day to see it, it is massive! Lots of artwork and big cultural significance. The food here is also good, but can be expensive. 100% recommend visiting!!

The experience was superb, but have in mind you will have to walk far and wide in the museum – make sure you have enough time and good shoes. 🙂 The waiting line is enormous every day, at any time, and you will probably spend c.a. 1+ hour waiting outside to enter the museum, even if you have tickets already booked. So, be patient and book in advance!

Museum sells tickets to third parties, then claims to be sold out, so you have to over pay to get the tickets from the third party unless you plan a month in advance. They tell you to arrive a half hour before, but the line starts forming an hour and a half before reservation time unless you’re there first thing in the morning. Inside, the signage to help you orient yourself is subpar. We had 3 items we wanted to see, and at every turn, we were trying to figure out what level we were even on. Moving between the Sully and Richelieu wing was also not intuitive. Finally, the Mona Lisa exhibit needs better crowd control. A line should form like the que to get in, roped off, so everyone has a chance to get closer enough to see it, snap a photo, and move on. We had two children, one an artist whose whole goal in attending was to see this classic up close, and she was unable to do so because so many taller people didn’t seem in a hurry to move on once they got to the one rope. But once we tried to get a different angle from the side (still far off), suddenly there was security telling us to keep it moving. This was a major fail in my book. Apparently, you can pay extra to get between the rope and the plexiglass covering the painting, but we weren’t even made aware of this in advance so we could take advantage of it. Like I said, doesn’t live up to the hype in my humble opinion. To get the most out of it, but tickets a month in advance and for first thing in the morning to maximise your experience.
