Louvre Museum

I should start by saying despite your views on art and which country of origin it should reside in that The Louvre is an impressive collection of art. I’ve visited it four times over the years, but this visit I spent no more than an hour in the museum. In short there were too many people packed in like cattle using it as a photoshoot location for social meda and appearing to use up all the air in the process. What a shame that it’s come to this, I’d love to know the ratio of people enjoying the art to those collecting the selfie.

For that reason, it was the worst experience of all the museums in Paris this trip.

The museum itself and the artifacts are truly unique — absolutely worth seeing, especially if you appreciate history and art. But the overall experience really takes away from it.
• The queues are ridiculous. Even with a timed ticket, there’s no real control or organization.
• Inside, it’s overcrowded to the point of frustration. You can barely move in some areas, let alone take in what you’re looking at.
• The Mona Lisa crowd is another level — people pushing just to take a selfie and leave. Most don’t look at anything else.

Honestly, they should create a separate entry and exit just for the Mona Lisa, so others can actually enjoy the museum without the chaos.

It is so magnificent and beautiful, you can see so much artwork for affordable price. Only downside is bad ventilation and high temperature inside because of su many visitors at the same moment. Places along widely famous artwork like Mona Lisa could be better organised because now there is no queue and people are literally pushing each other for space to take photos. There is security there to move someone but it is not so efficient.
